Enel X’s challenge

SurFrigo needed support to attain a more sustainable logistics business model, based on renewables, and gradually becoming more self-sufficient.
Enel X installed a 305 kWp photovoltaic system of 648 solar panels on the roof of the company’s new frozen items warehouse. Enel X is responsible for the end to end production of the photovoltaic plant while Banco Santander, a key actor in the project, provided the financing.
The installation of the photovoltaic plant will enable SurFrigo to self-produce 32% of its current annual energy needs based on renewables. Furthermore, it supports the company to develop a more sustainable business model, while producing savings in energy bills.
