Fast tracking the European battery supply chain

Italian companies meet in Catania, within the IPCEIs on batteries, to promote the European battery value chain

On 20th July, in Catania, Sicily, the event, hosted by Enel X at the Enel Innovation Hub , brings together Italian companies within the context of the IPCEIs (‘Important project of common European interest') on batteries. The workshops’ particular focus will be dedicated to the identification of potential synergies and spillovers that enable the development of the European battery value chain. The full day event in Catania provides an opportunity for Italian companies in the context of IPCEI batteries to develop the European battery supply chain from its R&D&I phases all the way to industrial production.

Agenda and discussion themes

The event will consist of workshops kick-starting at 9:30 A.M.

 

The sessions will be divided according to the following themes:

  • R&I: Advance Raw Materials and Recycling,  (from 9:50 until 10:50)
  • Batteries Manufacturing & Applications, (from 11:05 until 12:15)

 

The first workshop titled ‘R&I: Advance Raw Materials and Recycling’, will include speakers from the following companies: Fbk, Enea, Solway, Italmatch and Engitec Technologies.

 

The event will then hold a panel discussion on ‘How to Build a Competitive Landscape’ which will include speakers from the following companies: FPT, FAAM, Engitec, Enel X, MANZ. Enel X speakers will be Luigi Lanuzza , Responsabile for New Technologies – Innovation & Product Labs and Massimiliano De Benedetti. Institutional remarks will include the opening ones by Simone Vellucci, Deputy Head of Cabinet at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and the closing ones by Antonio Martini – Head of the  Energy Department for the Regione Sicilia.

 

It will be followed by a visit for participants to the XLab, our innovative Laboratory focused on R&D about second life batteries’ products and applications .
