The integrated energy Group was tapped by the German sportswear maker for a solar power supply deal

Enel Green Power, through Enel X Global Retail’s team of experts, has signed an agreement to supply adidas with renewable energy produced by a new solar project currently under construction in the province of Seville, Spain. The new facility will add approximately 47 MW to the global energy giant’s existing portfolio of more than 90 GW of installed capacity in 33 countries worldwide.

Certified clean energy for 10 years

Virtual Power Purchase Agreements are multi-year contracts between a renewable energy producer (in this case Enel Green Power España) and a customer (in this case, adidas). The deal was facilitated by Enel X Global Retail, the business line that unites the sales and marketing functions of Enel Group, including the PPA offering. This integrated team aims to operate as a strategic partner for customers, offering a full scope of products and services that support clients’ efforts to achieve their decarbonization, electrification, and sustainability goals. The PV solar project located in Spain is under construction and will start delivering power to the grid in the coming months. For a period of 10 years, starting 2025, adidas will acquire approximately 50 GWh/year of clean, sustainable energy.
