Formula E kicks off 2019 on the streets of Marrakesh

All-electric championship provides an adrenaline-fueled start to 2019

Enel X’s JuicePump Means No More Pit Stops

The Formula E championship takes place on a 2,971-km track with 12 corners that winds its way from the Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan into the very heart of the Moroccan city of Marrakesh. Enel X, which is the Official Smart Charging Partner for the 2018-2019 ABB FIA Formula E Championship, has developed an innovative new charging technology that will now enable the electric single-seaters to complete the race with just one charge. This has been made possible by new generation batteries powered by  JuicePump superchargers that boast an impressive 80 kW capacity yet weigh less than 200 kg apiece and so can easily be transported from one circuit to the next.

Bringing Technology From Track to Street

However, the JuicePump superchargers aren’t confined to providing the power to allow Formula E drivers to unleash their prodigious talents. These superchargers are also part of the network that Enel X is installing in public areas. On Italian territory alone, a total of 7,000 columns will be installed by 2020 and 14,000 by 2022 as part of the National Plan.

A Zero Impact Championship

A 100% green E-Prix with no pit stops: that’s the revolutionary thing about this zero impact championship. A factor that will keep both spectator and TV audiences glued to the action and their adrenaline levels soaring. Another great piece of news that looks set to get the broader public and motorsport fans alike even more involved in the racing is FANBOOST, an exclusive interactive voting system that will reward the 5 drivers with the highest votes with extra power boosts. In 2019, Formula E is set to be even greener, more thrilling and, of course, electrifying!
