Enel X and SDA Bocconi renew their partnership

The fashion industry might be one of the most glamorous in the world, but it is also one of the most polluting, accounting for an estimated 10% of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This is due to its long supply chain and energy-intensive production processes. Although “sustainable fashion” is an established concept, a lot of work still needs to be done and that is why Enel X, with its expertise in renewable energy and the circular economy, is playing an active role. SDA Bocconi School of Management will present the Monitor for Circular Fashion Report 2022, and our top-level managers will join the discussion with representatives of the fashion industry during the event, which will have a hybrid (in-person and on-line) format on Tuesday November 29.

Monitoring performance

One of the main techniques for making the fashion – and indeed any – industry more sustainable is through effective KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Enel X had a hands-on role in helping the Monitor’s authors, the SDA Sustainability Lab research team, draft the section on Corporate and Energy KPIs

The presentation

The new edition of the report will be presented in Milan on the morning of Tuesday November 29. Proceedings will be opened by Enel X CEO Francesco Venturini, together with the Director of the Sustainability Lab SDA Bocconi Management School. The report itself will be presented in detail by Romana Rinaldi, Director of the Monitor for Circular Fashion at SDA Bocconi. This will be followed by a series of talks: Enel X’s Global Sustainability Director, Nicola Tagliafierro, for example, will explain “How a circular energy transition can mitigate the climate impact of fashion.” There will also be series of panel discussions on: “Implementing the eco-design principles,” “How to avoid greenwashing through reliable sustainability claims,” “Technology enabling the transition: towards the end-to-end digital product passport” and last, but by no means least, “The power of collaboration and cooperation.”
