Enel X boosts its charging network thanks to Hubject agreement

Thanks to an agreement with HubjectEnel X's charging infrastructure is now stronger than ever. The e-Mobility joint venture, which was launched in 2012, already includes key players from the sector, such as the BMW Group, Bosch, Daimler, EnBW, Innogy, Siemens and the Volkswagen Group. These will now be joined by the technological experience and digital know-how of Enel X, which has joined Hubject by becoming a 12.5% shareholder; a move that will help to spread e-Mobility around the world also thanks to the company’s innovative solutions.

Taking e-Mobility to the next level

Charging point network

Our Charging Point Network

The Hubject network is therefore literally drawing the world's electric mobility map. Indeed, the interoperable platform enables drivers right across the world, no matter which country they're in, to fully recharge their vehicles: the only requisite being a contract with one of the suppliers affiliated to the network. So, in addition to the 8,000 charging points already available to them through the company's European infrastructure in Italy, Spain and Romania, Enel X customers will now be able to use all 200,000 Hubject charging points, even when traveling outside their home nations.

Enabling the e-mobility transition

From the day it was established, Enel X has been fully committed to spreading the electric culture, expanding its infrastructure on a daily basis to reach the 60,000 charging points it boasts today. The objective is to multiply this number further until it reaches 455,000 public and private charging points by 2021. Interoperability is one of the fundamental concepts for the global success of e-Mobility. For Enel X, the possibility of utilizing charging services wherever you go, even those offered by providers you don't normally use, is a key enabler.
A practical example is our JuicePass app, a single point of access with which users can interact with private charging points, at home or at work, and use Enel X's public charging network, as well as those of its partners and, from now on, even the entire Hubject network.
